First announced in 2024, this new hangar delivers on Sheltair’s vision to expand capacity, elevate service, and meet increasing demand for aircraft storage and MRO operations at one of the nation’s fastest-growing aviation hubs. The new complex consists of 50,880 square feet of hangar space, 8,344 square feet of office and shop space, and an expansive 50,000-square-foot apron designed to support efficient aircraft maneuvering, staging, and fueling.
Built to accommodate large-cabin and narrow-body aircraft, including up to three (3) Boeing Business Jets (BBJs), the MRO features a specialized tail door system engineered for larger airframes—providing operators and MRO providers with unmatched flexibility. The hangar is also equipped with a fire suppression system that supports NFPA codes for full MRO operations, making it one of the most capable MRO aviation facilities at TPA.
