McKINNEY, Texas (Sept. 22, 2025)—The City of McKinney is proud to announce the opening of a dedicated U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility at McKinney National Airport. This milestone significantly enhances the airport’s role as an international gateway and positions McKinney for continued economic growth.
Over the past two years, international arrivals at McKinney National Airport have surged by more than 40 percent, growing from 127 in Fiscal Year 2023 to a projected 180 by the end of Fiscal Year 2025. This steady rise reflects the airport’s increasing importance in serving global business and private aviation.
The new facility includes:
- Private inspection space for secure and efficient passenger processing
- Dedicated CBP officer coordination to streamline operations
- Secure entry infrastructure that reduces turnaround times for international flights
“This is more than a building, it’s a gateway to opportunity,” said Mayor Bill Cox. “The new customs facility gives McKinney National Airport the capacity and credibility to attract more international travelers and corporate aviation, which drives local business growth and investment.”
“The improved customs capability enhances operational efficiency and security and strengthens McKinney’s appeal to international business partners and corporate travelers,” said Airport Director Ken Carley. “With modern infrastructure in place, the airport is now equipped to accommodate even greater levels of international traffic without compromising the speed or quality of service passengers have come to expect.”
