Tampa, Fla. / March 11, 2022 / Aviation News – Sheltair Aviation has announced, that in partnership with Tampa Bay’s chapter of Women in Aviation International, a collaborative effort
for a beach clean-up supported non-profit Keep Pinellas Beautiful, a Keep America Beautiful affiliate.
Seventeen volunteers from both organizations were assigned North Gandy Beach, one of Tampa Bay’s most appreciative communities to receive a helping hand. In just over a half-mile span, the group collected more than 350 pounds of waste, aiding conservation efforts across Florida’s West Coast.
“Our Women in Aviation Chapter has longed to complete a service project since early 2021. Upon learning that Sheltair’s community engagement program aimed to do the same, we quickly took action to form a partnership,” said Mariah Blackmon, Vice President of Women in Aviation Tampa Bay. “It’s remarkable to see two different aviation organizations join for a cause, and we look forward to doing it again in the near future. Beautifying our state beaches and having fun doing it- that truly makes me happy. We are blessed to have such an amazing group.”
In late 2020, Sheltair President Lisa Holland implemented a paid Volunteer Time Off policy to provide community engagement and philanthropic opportunities to the communities the
company serves. This program allows Sheltair employees to support organizations and causes that are near and dear to their hearts, and it played a significant role during this project.
“On behalf of Lisa Holland and our Sheltair family, it’s an honor and pleasure to collaborate with Women in Aviation’s Tampa Bay Chapter,” said Stephanie Robbins, Sheltair’s Vice President of Business Development and Client Relations. “We are always excited to collaborate with organizations serving the community through fun and engaging team building opportunities.”
