The spirit of general aviation is nowhere better represented than at the fly in. It’s the ultimate combination of hobbyists, career aviators and aviation enthusiasts meeting in one place to celebrate the diversity of our industry.

One of the largest fly ins in the world continues to be EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wis., every July. The fly in garners international attention for our industry and has even been voted USA TODAY’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice for Best Air Show in the U.S. The week-long event features static displays of warbirds, homebuilts, vintage aircraft, ultralights, aerobatics, seaplanes and hundreds of rare and unique airplanes in the EAA AirVenture Museum; concerts; presentations and workshops; flight experiences; exhibits and shopping; and daily air shows, including an appearance by the world’s premier military jet team, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, performing its full show at Oshkosh for the first time in 2017.

But what makes fly ins truly important for our industry is the way it inspires people. It’s a way for the public to get to know the industry we love, and to inspire the next generation of aviators who will lead the way for innovation in aviation.
