With the holiday traveling season upon us, we had a chat with some of our Avplan specialists to discuss the three items people are most likely to forget when traveling abroad. Plan ahead and update your list of essentials to avoid unnecessary hassle around the holidays:
- Proper Insurance—make sure your assets are covered before heading across borders. Not sure if you’re up-to-date on aircraft insurance or other aviation necessities? Talk with your insurance provider or give Avsurance a call to assess the state of your coverage before takeoff.
- Visas—and not just the shiny plastic kind. We’re talking the legal documentation allowing you to visit, work and live in another country. But there are different kinds of visas—nonimmigrant visas, immigrant visas and approximately 185 others that differ by destination and purpose. Not sure what you need for your upcoming trip? We found passportsandvisas.com to be a useful resource. Travel.state.gov also serves as a helpful travel reference. Still need some help? Give Avplan a call (734.272.4120).
- Aircraft equipment—different countries have different regulations regarding aircraft equipment, especially when it comes to navigation. Do some research beforehand to make sure you have all the tools you need to make your trip a success.
We wish you all safe travels and a very Happy Thanksgiving!
